Eng. Itobi holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, conferred in 2009. He has since gained hands-on engineering and project management experience through both public and private sector engagements, focusing on road construction and building infrastructure.

He began his career as a trainee engineer on major projects such as the Thuchi–Embu–Makutano and Embu–Kianjokoma roads, working with AEGIS Construction Ltd and Issako Construction. He later joined KAUSHAL ENTERPRISES where he was involved in the construction of maisonettes at China Gardens, Nairobi, and the Nyambene Arimi SACCO building.

Eng. Itobi served as a Graduate Engineer with ITALBUILD Construction Co., participating in the construction of the proposed Vice President’s Residence, and went on to work as a Site Engineer with APEC Consortium Ltd., where he contributed to Mt. Kenya Phase 2 Roads under Lot 1 and 2. His technical role in the Resident Engineer’s Office for the same project equipped him with valuable skills in engineering supervision, contract management, and quality assurance.

In his current leadership role within the Kiambu County Government, Eng. Itobi oversees critical infrastructure portfolios including roads, transport systems, utilities, and public works. As a NaMATA Board Director, he brings grassroots perspectives and technical insights that support the Authority’s mission to integrate and modernize the public transport network across the Nairobi Metropolitan Region.

Eng. Itobi’s blend of technical acumen, field experience, and policy oversight continues to enhance NaMATA’s strategic direction, especially in aligning county-level priorities with regional mobility goals.
